    A Wolcott man in police custody briefly escaped Saturday morning after being arrested Friday for allegedly leading a police pursuit and nearly running a trooper over. State police say 32-year-old Kenneth Lyden was taken to St. Mary's Hospital for evaluation and escaped while a trooper tried to secure him for transport back to Troop L. They say Lyden gained control of the transport vehicle, but was caught in Waterbury a short time later.
