    The brig Lady Washington and the topsail ketch Hawaiian Chieftain begin a seven-week voyage on the Columbia River when they depart Seaport Landing in Aberdeen on July 5. The sailing ships will visit 11 river ports, with public tours and excursions scheduled at nine of them, including their stop at Washougal on Aug. 22 and Aug. 23. On the Oregon side, the tall ships will stop at Hood River, The Dalles and Arlington. At each stop, walk-on tours are hosted by crew members in period costume.

    The second victim in a fatal crash that happened Wednesday on state Highway 14 has been identified by authorities as Portland resident Justin Clayton. Clayton, 25, of Portland, was a passenger in a 2015 Kia Soul involved in a head-on crash Wednesday just east of Washougal, according to Washington State Patrol.
