    The Warren-Trumbull County NAACP wants the civil rights organization's regional office to investigate backlash against Operation Warren Shield, a two-day sweep targeting heroin that it says produced no heroin arrests but focused on an inordinate number of African-American residents. "We took in more than 50 calls over that weekend about what happened during that two-day period," Annette McCoy, president of the Warren-Trumbull NAACP, told an audience at Councilwoman Cheryl Saffold's 6th Ward meeting last week at the Greater St. John's Church, 419 Highland Ave. Out of about 1,000 people stopped, about 400 - 40 percent - were African-Americans, she said.
