The driver of the 1991 Mazda Miata had minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, but his female passenger sustained major injuries and was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, according to Officer Brandon Correia , a California Highway Patrol spokesman.
