    Wake Forest reeled in 18 recruits in less than an hour to kick off football's first early signing period, and picked up another one to leave the Deacons waiting on two of their 21 verbally committed players by 9 a.m. Wednesday. The Deacons' first commitment was Peyton Woulard, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound defensive back from Suwanee, Ga., whose National Letter of Intent rolled in at 7:02 a.m. That kicked off a hectic 51 minutes for the Deacons, in which a total of 18 players officially became the next class for Wake Forest's football program.
