    A Honolulu Fire Department spokesman said that heavy smoke was coming from a second-story window of the Lumipolu Street home when nine fire companies with 31 firefighters arrived just before 1 p.m. The fire was brought under control nine minutes later. No one was inside the home at the time of the fire, according to the fire department.

Chee, a semi-retired accountant, was a soccer statistician and scorekeeper for the Oahu Interscholastic Association, the Interscholastic League of Honolulu and the Hawaii High School Athletic Association. For many years during the high school soccer regular season, Chee gathered scores and statistics from coaches around Oahu and reported them to the local media.
