    WAILUKU, Maui, Hawaii - The County of Maui's Department of Environmental Management reported that a wastewater overflow of approximately 1,250 gallons occurred on February 14, 2015 in Wailuku. The overflow was reported at 8:40 a.m. and was stopped by 9:20 a.m. The overflow was caused by equipment malfunction at Waiehu Pump Station, when power was lost due to strong winds.

    Maui Electric crews were able to restore power to all but 20 customers last night as they worked through midnight to bring customers in areas of Haiku, Wailuku, Waiehu, Kahului, Piiholo and Olinda back online. Crews are back in the field this morning clearing trees and debris to gain access and conduct repairs to the remaining 5 customers in Olinda and 15 customers in pockets of Haiku.
