    According to police reports, just after midnight on Friday, July 21, the Logan County Sheriff's Department and the Russellville Police Department responded to The Climb at 1850 Nashville Road in Russellville in response to an alleged suicidal subject who had reportedly poured gasoline on himself while threatening to set himself on fire. The suicidal subject, later discovered to be Thomas Prevatte, 37, from Wagram, N.C., was also reported to be in possession of a handgun.

According to the Logan County Sheriff's Department, Thomas Prevatte from Wagram, N.C., reportedly poured gasoline on himself while threatening to set himself on fire at The Climb, then ran from authorities. Prevatte is still on the lose and reported to be armed and dangerous.

    A bill approved this week in the state General Assembly will change the length of terms for those holding elected offices in both Raynham and Orrum. The bill, whose primary sponsor was Rep. Garland Pierce, a Democrat from Wagram whose district represents part of Robeson County, amends charters in both communities so that the terms of council members increases from two to four years.
