    Pee Dee Electric has announced plans to install a half-acre community solar farm adjacent to their corporate headquarters in Wadesboro.The announcement was made last week after the Wadesboro Town Council approved rezoning for the project. The solar farm will have 360 individual panels, which will produce approximately 150,000 kWhs of electricity annually, and will be available for Pee Dee members to purchase.

Joshua Tyson signed up to speak, along with Steve DeBerry and Dannie Montgomery, who both spoke about the county commissioners' proposed 1/4-cent tax increase for education.

    Wadesboro Police Chief Thedis Spencer announced that McLendon-Brown was served with two true bill of indictments for one count of obtaining property by false pretense and one count of disturbing human remains. In June, McLendon-Brown was sentenced to 6-17 months in prison for obtaining property by false pretenses after accepting money to take a body to the crematorium but failing to do so.
