    It was a beautiful day to run last Saturday when the Vilonia Eagle Cross Country teams finished their season at the 5A State Championship Meet in Hot Springs. After hundreds of miles over months of training, countless gallons of sweat poured out on the trails and roads, and sore muscles that some non-runners do not even know exist, these young men and women closed their seasons as the third best 5A teams in the state.

Teams from Harrison, Farmington, Clarksville, Little Rock Christian, Morrilton, Maumelle and Greenbrier made the rainy ride to Conway to compete for bragging rights as champions in the tough 5A West conference.
