    President Obama on Wednesday announced he had commuted the sentences of another 214 federal inmates, nearly all of whom were locked up on drug offenses, continuing the White House's attempt to redefine the criminal justice system's approach in dealing with nonviolent drug crimes. "All of the individuals receiving commutation today - incarcerated under outdated and unduly harsh sentencing laws - embody the president's belief that 'America is a nation of second chances,"' White House counsel Neil Eggleston wrote in a blog post.
