River Bend police charged 29-year-old Ronald Bruce Hawkins III of New Bern with five counts of felony breaking or entering a motor vehicle and two counts of misdemeanor larceny.

"I remember going down there, and back then, the game started at eight o'clock and if you weren't in the stadium by 6:30, you didn't sit down," said Clay Jordan, the coach of West Craven back then.

    Charges are pending after a pickup truck struck a bicyclist on N.C. 43 near the Weyerhaeuser plant Thursday morning, according to the N.C. Highway Patrol. Elwin D. Thompson, 59, of New Bern, was riding his bicycle on the southbound lane of the highway near Spring Garden Road at approximately 6:35 a.m. when a 2005 Nissan Titan pickup truck driven by Robert B.
