    On the same day the news broke about Jaxson, the 8-foot alligator living for nearly four decades in a Van Nuys neighborhood, Los Angeles Animal Control officers found another alligator in the San Fernando Valley, this one abandoned in a North Hills backyard. The second reptile, an approximately 2 1/2-foot long American alligator, was found Wednesday in the 15300 block of Lassen Street, the Los Angeles Department of Animal Services reported Thursday evening.
