    The steel drums of a band from Ontario Canada were among the many sounds heard in South Utica Saturday morning in this year's 4th of July Parade, and although that steel drum sound may have made it feel a little like the Caribbean, weather-wise, this 4th of July was nothing like it, but at least it didn't rain. Arthur Gary of Utica said he almost didn't come down with his chair and sit across from Our Lady of Lourdes Church because of the potential for rain, "My wife had asked me, she says you want to go to the parade, I was like no, but then eventually we decided to come up and I'm glad I did come."
