Montgomery County Legislators, at their meeting Tuesday, balked at using the county's fund balance, its reserve of unspent tax revenues, to pay the $15,000.

    According to the resolution, agreed to unanimously by the board, the purpose of the purchase of the trucks is to help the Fulton County Solid Waste Department's transition to single-stream recycling methods, a change that began in the first quarter of 2017. Single-stream recycling, which started in March, requires residents to put all of their recycling materials, including paper, plastic, metal and glass goods, into one curbside lidded container, which should have a county recycling sticker on it.
