Andrew Cuomo accusing the administration of using the city's students "as pawns in a political game" after school officials were excluded from a meeting with Cuomo staff earlier this week. Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi, a Democrat, and state Sen. Joe Griffo, a Republican, say district officials were told they could not meet with Cuomo staff on Monday to discuss school funding issues along with other members of the Conference of Big Five School Districts - apparently because of the small cities schools lawsuit , an appeal in which is pending.
