    Union City resident and local Hoboken hero Erik Warg died Friday, Oct. 6 at age 37. In September 2014, Warg was commended by the city of Hoboken and Mayor Dawn Zimmer for saving a 38-year-old woman from drowning in the Hudson River after she leapt into the water to reportedly get a stuffed animal. He and another person dining nearby, Thomas Licciardi, jumped in to help retrieve her from the water.
