    A Ukiah man was arrested Saturday for allegedly pulling a gun on a woman and not allowing her to leave their apartment, the Ukiah Police Department reported. According to the UPD, officers responded to an apartment in the 100 block of Observatory Avenue around 4:09 p.m. Aug. 19 when it was reported that a man had pulled out a gun and was not allowing a woman to leave his apartment.

    The developer of the proposed housing project on Lovers Lane in Ukiah , Guillion Inc, has submitted an altered plan to Mendocino County, which includes duplexes as part of a proposed alternative to the county's Inclusionary Housing Ordinance. The alterations to the plan are a direct response to a number of residents' complaints about a lack of affordable housing being carried on with the Lovers Lane project, called Vineyard Crossing, as well as the county's hard line on development put forth in its ordinance.

    The Ukiah Valley Trail Group has created a new team of volunteers it refers to as its Strike Force Six to deal with trail maintenance issues that are a long way from the trailhead. The volunteers are primarily mountain bikers, and the trail group has purchased six sets of specialty tools and packs to make sure the Strike Force can quickly travel from the trailhead three to five miles down the trail to where the work is needed.
