    On June 10, South Valley High School had its largest graduating class, 82 students, since the state has required the passage of the California High School Exit Exam. South Valley's graduates included 11 students who participated in the Youth Build Program, a partnership with Pinoleville Band of Pomos, and six students from South Valley High School's Young Parent Program.

    The Ukiah Planning Commission will hold a public hearing Wednesday as it considers the plans by the chain Chipotle to open a restaurant on East Perkins Street. According to the staff report prepared for the June 24 meeting, the chain wants to build a 2,378-square-foot Chipotle Mexican Grill in the vacant lot at the corner of East Perkins Street and Orchard Avenue, across the street from McDonald's.

    A 12-year-old Ukiah boy who was shot last Thursday on Canyon Drive near Laws Avenue has died, and now the alleged suspect in the case is being held on upgraded charges of suspected involuntary manslaughter, according to the Mendocino County District Attorney's Office. Jaime Rodriguez Jr., 19, of Ukiah, was arraigned Wednesday in Mendocino County Superior Court on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter while in the commission of a personal use firearm, DA spokesman Mike Geniella said, adding the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

This week-long camp began on Monday and concluded Friday.
