    A Napa man was arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle in Ukiah that had been left running while the owner was loading it early Sunday morning, the Ukiah Police Department reported. According to the UPD, a resident in the 1600 block of Lockwood Drive reported at 5:33 a.m. that his vehicle had been stolen after he left it unlocked with the engine running while he loaded items from his home into it.

These are the westerlies that all Ukiahans know to arrive between 3 and 4 p.m. between April and Oct. This disturbance would interrupt any pickle ball game, for sure.

    An order mandating water conservation will likely be lifted soon for much of the state, the City of Ukiah's Director of Water and Sewer recently predicted. “The State Water Resources Control Board had a long hearing in Sacramento taking testimony from a variety of water interests on the conservation mandate and whether the state will continue it,” Sean White told the Ukiah City Council at its last meeting, during which he also explained that Ukiah likely will easily meet the 20 percent reduction in water use it was expected to achieve.
