    Earlier this month, Windermere's Ukiah associates donated an entire workday to help with yard projects at the Ukiah Foster Family Agency and Arbor Youth Resource Center, which are programs run by Redwood Community Services, Inc. The volunteers pulled weeds, planted flowers and placed new gravel around trees near the street during the annual Windermere Real Estate Community Service Day. The annual Windermere Real Estate Community Service Day was Friday, June 3. Each year, Windermere Real Estate agents, managers, owners and staff from 300 offices across the Western United States gather together and devote their workday to making a positive change in the neighborhoods they serve through local service projects and volunteerism.

    A Ukiah woman was arrested for allegedly stealing a package containing expensive medical equipment that was delivered to someone's home, the Ukiah Police Department reported. According to the UPD, officers were dispatched to a home in the 1000 block of North Pine Street around 8:45 a.m. when a resident reported seeing a woman taking a package from her porch.

    Nearly a year after it was filed, arguments for and against an appeal to uphold a lawsuit delaying the construction of a proposed Costco warehouse in Ukiah were held Wednesday in the First District Court of Appeals in San Francisco. City Attorney David Rapport attended the hearing and said afterward that the court had “90 days to file a decision,” and he could not guess how much of that time it would take to render a decision.
