    The storage pool at Lake Mendocino is full now, but Huffman said more water could be saved, and the water released could be cleaner, if the Coyote Valley dam were raised. . And since so much water is falling from the sky, many in the Ukiah Valley are wondering when, if ever, more of it might be stored in Lake Mendocino? The reservoir is owned by the Sonoma County Water Agency, and for most of the past few years that agency has been in charge of the water releases, given that the water level was so low.

    The Redwood Valley-Calpella Fire Department and the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office responded to Calpella Elementary School around 10 a.m. Tuesday after a bomb threat was made. According to the Ukiah Unified School District, Principal Tina Burrell reported that staff members were checking voicemail messages and “deciphered a message on a school line threatening to place a bomb 'under the restaurant.'
