According to a Sheriff's Department spokesperson, on January 1, just before 1:45 p.m., Sheriff's Deputy Robert Maestas was requested by the Mountains Community Hospital staff to respond to their location regarding a possible assault victim at the emergency room.

    The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department announced that after a two-week search, an arrest has been made in an early morning attempted murder that occurred on December 14 in the Crestline area. Investigators from the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station announced they had arrested 28-year-old Crestline resident Sean Patrick Campbell at a home in the 700 Block of North Village Lane in Crestline on December 30. In one of multiple statements to The Alpenhorn News , Sheriff's Department investigators allege that on December 14, shortly before 2:00 a.m., the victim, identified only as an employee of the Bear Claw Saloon located on Lake Drive in Crestline, had left the business after closing and walked to the Crestline 7-11 to buy a cup of coffee.

    Deputies from the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station arrested 23-year-old Crestline resident Randi Deanne Muncy for burglary after reportedly removing her from inside a Crestline home. Shortly before 4:00 p.m. on December 20, Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station Deputy Ron Miller was checking a residence in the 24000 block of Alpine Drive in Crestline, where deputies had taken a burglary report on December 13. As Miller was approaching the house, a white female, standing outside, saw the sheriff's unit, and what can best be described as giving the deputy a deer in the headlights look, ran back into the house and slammed the door.
