Dorn's body was found Saturday in the trunk of a 2003 Lincoln Town Car that had been abandoned in the yard of a residence on Cobb Street in Hurtsboro, Ala.

    An estate gift valued at $1.59 million was given to the school by the estate of San Francisco physician Orlando Lawrence Clark who died in 2014 at the age of 92. According to a report on the school's website, the donation from his estate will augment Tuskegee's endowment and provide students with scholarships for generations to come. The Dr. Orlando Lawrence Clark Endowed Memorial Scholarship Fund will assist students enrolled in degree programs leading to careers in biology, chemistry, physics and psychology.

    After a string of armed robberies at 10 businesses scattered throughout Georgia and Alabama, Tariq Khalil Jones, 35, of Tuskegee, Ala., was sentenced to life in federal prison plus 282 years, announced A. Clark Morris, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama in a news release. Jones robbed ten businesses in five months, from January to May 2016, using a firearm at each crime and, at one point, shooting at a vehicle with a father and 3-year-old child inside, authorities said.
