    Officials with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources announced Wednesday the growing population of zebra mussels in the Iowa Great Lakes is starting to be noticed more and more, and they're encouraging lakeshore property owners and service providers to be vigilant while taking out boat hoists and docks this fall and reports any findings to the agency. Zebra mussels were first detected in East Lake Okoboji and Upper Gar in the fall of 2012 and have been increasing in numbers and distribution since.
