    The Walnut Creek National Guard Armory at 1800 Carmel Drive, adjacent to Civic Park East, will become an overnight shelter for 30 pre-screened Trinity Center members from Dec. 12 to March 12. The City Council unanimously agreed to enter into a licensing agreement with the State Military Department for use of the armory; while Trinity Center will manage the shelter and cover all operating costs, the State Military Department required that the City, as a governmental body, hold the license. Shelter occupants will check-in at the Trinity Center at 5:30 p.m. before being transported by van to the Armory each evening; in the morning, the van will return them to the Trinity Center.
