    The name of the victim who died in a hunting accident near Traer on Saturday morning, Dec. 27, is being withheld by the Tama County Sheriff's Office pending the notification of relatives. The Sheriff's Office news release said a call was received about the accident at 7:43 a.m. When Department of Natural Resources and sheriff's officers arrived at the scene they learned three family members were preparing to hunt deer with muzzleloaders.

According to the suit filed by Timothy Sells, executor of her estate, she died in a collision when the pickup truck she was operating collided with one operated by Craig Stevens.

    A North Tama school bus has collided with some type of lawn mowing equipment near Traer according to Tama County radio traffic shortly before 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18. Initial reports monitored from the scene appear to indicate the only injury was to the mower operator and the students on the bus and driver were not hurt.
