Jerome Townsend, 26, of Princeton, was captured on video throwing two punches at the head of David Warner, 31, of Jamaica Plain, shortly after the finish of the pro/1/2 Fitchburg Downtown Criterium, the third event in the three-day Longsjo Classic, on June 28. Townsend has accepted the sanctions and will not appeal the ruling, according to Kevin Loughery, communications director for USA Cycling, the governing body of bicycle racing in the United States.

Jerome Townsend , 26, of Princeton, was captured on video throwing two punches at the head of David Warner , 31, of Jamaica Plain, shortly after the finish of the pro 1/2 Fitchburg Downtown Criterium, the third event in the three-day Longsjo Classic, on June 28. After an investigation of nearly three weeks, USA Cycling handed down a ruling to Townsend on July 17, according to Kevin Loughery , communications director for USA Cycling, the governing body of bicycle racing in the United States.
