Detroit Ave. Darrick Smith, 35, was taken by private vehicle to Mercy Health St. Anne Hospital, police said. Mr. Smith suffered injuries from an apparent assault and was grazed by a bullet.

    Federal agents confiscated six kilograms of heroin and arrested two Toledo men this week in a seizure officials say is one of the largest in the city's history. The suspected heroin was packaged in bricks that would have been broken down, possibly cut with the potent opioid fentanyl, and sold on the streets, said Keith Martin, assistant special agent in charge of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's northern Ohio office in Cleveland.
