    Colorado Republicans said Friday that they will choose a replacement for former state Rep. Steve Lebsock, who last week switched his party affiliation to the GOP just before he was expelled from the House of Representatives over sexual harassment accusations. The former Democrat was ejected from the legislature on a bipartisan, 52-9 vote, but the political harmony didn't last long.

Steve Lebsock, a native of Sterling and Democratic candidate for state Treasure, was accused of sexual harassment by a female colleague on Friday, Nov. 10, according to a number of Denver media outlets. According to one report in the Denver Post, State Rep. Steve Lebsock, D-Thornton, was urged by Colorado House Speaker Crisanta Duran to resign from his leadership position after state Rep. Faith Winter, D-Westminster, accused him of pushing her to have sex with him while the two were attending a party with other state lawmakers in 2016.
