    Texas A&M University-Texarkana's Program for Learning and Community Engagement will present award-winning poet Dr. Jericho Brown for a workshop and reading on April 27 in the University Center The workshop will start at 4 p.m., and the reading is set for 6 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public and will be held in the Tri-State Iron & Metal Atrium on the center's third floor on campus, 7101 University Ave. Brown's first collection of poetry, "Please," won the 2009 American Book Award and has received tremendous praise since its release. His second collection, "The New Testament," was nominated for the NAACP award for poetry and won the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award.
