Smith, D-Deming, said residents in his Southern New Mexico district lobbied him for a higher age limit, and his first instinct is that they have a point.

    SILVER CITY >> It Was a great weekend of wrestling for Cobre High School, and although the Indians placed third and fell to a couple of rivals on the mat, head coach Jared Gallegos got a chance to see how his team matches up and what he needs to do to bring the squad full circle. Cobre wrapped up a third place finish at the Silver High Wrestling Invitational.

    The short-term solution to a much-needed southern road to Spaceport America is still several months away, while the long-term solution remains on the drawing board. Robert Armijo, Dona Ana County engineer, told members of the state Legislature's New Mexico Finance Authority Oversight Committee that he is hopeful construction can start next summer, though that depends on an ongoing assessment by the Bureau of Land Management.
