    The Gators will play the North Florida Ospreys on Dec. 1, less than nine months after winning an opening-round NIT game 97-68 at the UNF Arena on March 15. The sixth meeting between UF and UNF will occur three weeks after the Gators play their first two games of the season at the Jacksonville Veterans Arena on Nov. 11 and 13. However, the Gators may switch Belmont to a Nov. 21 game that has been contracted in Tampa. The Gators are having difficulty finding an opponent for that date and Belmont has the most flexibility to move among the teams already on Florida's schedule.

    The Florida Gators basketball team will play three non-conference games in Jacksonville this season, including a second date with the University of North Florida Opsreys at UNF Arena in nine months. Although UF or UNF haven't finalized their schedules, the Associated Press reported on Monday that the two tweams will play on Dec. 1, one of 10 non-SEC games the Gators will play in the state while a $64.5 million renovation project on the O'Connell Center is completed.

    Tampa police used a stun gun on a "Pokemon Go" player who resisted arrest when officers chased about 150 people out of Tampa's Ballast Point Park after closing time. Lt. Ricardo Ubinas said in a news release that everyone except 20-year-old David T. Mastrototaro-Baermude complied with officers' commands to leave the park around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
