    A nice spring day with sunshine and short sleeve weather greeted the Gladbrook Auxiliary as they met in the Activity Room of Westbrook Acres at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 10. Twenty one members and guests including six officers answered roll call on what they most liked about spring. President Jeanne opened the meeting with all reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag.

    Trial for Dustin Jerome Jefferson, 41, on five counts of 3rd degree sexual abuse has been reset for June 5 in Tama County District Court in Toledo. Judge Fae Hooever-Grinde set a pre-trial conference for May 25. Court records show this is the seventh pre-trial conference set in the case.

    Before District Court Judge Christoper E. Bruns in Tama County District Court in Toledo: Joshua Dale Todd, 30, addresses of Tama and Clutier, entered guilty pleas to charges of 2nd degree criminal mischief, 4th domestic abuse assault causing injury - strangulation and eluding / attempting to elude while participating in a felony. He was sentenced to five years in prison on each charge with the sentences to run concurrently with a sentence of 90 days in jail for 4th degree criminal mischief to which he also entered a guilty plea.

    Jim Roan, Toledo, representing the Wieting Theater, gave a report on the "Phase Two" of the restoration of the Wieting Theater. Phase one was completed in 2012 and the group is now ready to prepare for Phase 2. Phase 2 will include reinforcing beams in the basement under the seating area with metal braces, tiling around the building to get the moisture out of the basement, building an addition on t he northeast corner of the building to be used for a dressing room.
