Dowless said Jermaine Rodrick Nelson Vickers, 30, of Brandon, Florida was visiting his girlfriend in Tabor City when he was shot on the porch of the home on School Street around 2:30 p.m. The woman who Vickers was dating was inside the home at the time time of the shooting and was not involved.

According to Tabor City Police Chief Donald Dowless, the charges stem from an incident that took place at a gas station near the intersection of Fair Bluff and Carolina roads on June 2. Dowless said that Brown and another suspect were in a vehicle that was driving around the gas station, waiting for a man to walk out of the building.

No names were released, but Dowless said the victims are a 20-year-old male, a 21-year-old male and a 39-year-old female.
