    The United Way of Central NY is collecting toiletries and other small 'comfort items', and plans to have shoeboxes full to give to needy and homeless in the Syracuse area Soap, toothbrushes, combs and brushes and toiletries, plus socks and other 'comfort' items are being collected by the United Way of Central New York, to be put in shoeboxes to give to the Syracuse area's needy over the fall and winter months. 'They can have those items to use,' says United Way President Frank Lazarski, 'and that's a good way to help the homeless people.'
