Major depression diagnoses increased 33 percent nationwide, especially among adolescents and millennials, from 2013 through 2016, according to a study of medical claims by the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.

At about 12:10 p.m. Monday, a "concerned" C-NS High School student approached the school resource officer about "a potential school shooting after a classmate made statements to carry out acts of violence against the students and staff at the school."

Salina St.; Clary Middle School, 100 Amidon Drive; Grant Middle School, 2400 Grand Boulevard; LeMoyne Elementary School, 1528 LeMoyne Ave.; Porter Elementary, 512 Emerson Ave.; Huntington pre-K-8, 400 Sunnycrest Road and Webster Elementary, 500 Wadsworth St. "I want to assure you that we are taking every situation very seriously," Jaime Alicea, city school superintendent, said in a letter to parents.
