Paper bags are lined up along the track to commemorate those who have lost their lives to cancer and to honor survivors and those still battling the disease at the Relay for Life event on Saturday, June 25. The Shabbona resident and two-year kidney cancer survivor is the captain of 'Superheroes and Survivors,' a team of 40 people who participated in the DeKalb County Relay for Life, which raises funds to support the American Cancer Society.
