    Two pedestrians were injured early Sunday morning when struck by a car while attempting to walk across Route 47 near Sugar Grove, Kane County authorities said. Kane County Sheriff's police said the men had just left the gas station at Jericho Road and Route 47 and were attempting to cross to the west side of the highway at about 12:25 a.m. when a 2016 Chevrolet Spark driving south on Route 47 hit them.

    A 44-year-old worker with the Kane County Division of Transporation was struck and killed by a pickup truck Thursday morning while filling potholes in Blackberry Township, authorities said. Steven W. Chidester, of Cortland, was killed when he was struck by a 1999 Ford F250 on Harter Road, just north of Lasher Road, at about 10:41 a.m., according to a Kane County sheriff's office news release.
