    A Lubbock man is dead from what officials believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound that came as Littlefield police initiated a traffic stop in reference to a domestic disturbance Monday evening in nearby Sudan. Lamb County Sheriff Gary Maddox said 34-year-old Ramon Chavira was pronounced dead after he was taken to Lamb Healthcare Center in Littlefield after he was found shot and unresponsive in his vehicle Monday evening on U.S. 84 in Littlefield following a brief pursuit.

    The Texas Rangers are assisting the Lamb County Sheriff's Office and Littlefield Police Department in an investigation after a man was found dead following a domestic dispute that began in Sudan on Monday evening. Lamb County Sheriff Gary Maddox said the Texas Rangers were called to investigate after the unindentified suspect was found dead in his vehicle after crashing into a ditch when Littlefield police attempted to stop him from fleeing.

Their home is located down the road from ICT Oilfield Products in the 200 block of Hopping Plant Road; a facility that takes agricultural materials such as cotton lint to produce additives for drilling fluids and oil absorbents.

    Homes were evacuated and fire crews worked through the night after a cotton delinting facility in Lamb County caught fire on Monday night. Crews from Amherst and Sudan assisted in battling the blaze with Littlefield crews remaining on scene Tuesday morning, said Littlefield Fire Department Chief Jamie Grey.
