The Lamb County Sheriff's Department responded to a report of a drive-by shooting in Sudan a little after 6 p.m. The complainant, a 28-year-old man from Sudan, said Chavira had been chasing him and using his vehicle to ram him.

Lamb County Sheriff Gary Maddox said 34-year-old Ramon Chavira was pronounced dead after he was taken to Lamb Healthcare Center in Littlefield after he was found shot and unresponsive in his vehicle Monday evening on U.S. 84 in Littlefield following a brief pursuit.
