    Friday morning found a crowd of more than 100 visitors gathered for the inaugural public firing of rebuilt reproduction of a Revolutionary War-era cannon. Known as a three-pounder for the size of the cast-iron cannon ball it fires, the artillery piece is the product of an offer from a retired cannoneer in upstate New York and months of labor by craftsman and blacksmith Derek Heidemann and village volunteer Jonathan Duvall, who shaped and assembled the carriage from oak.
