The company began work last week by pressure washing the building, applying paint, repairing interior walls, putting ice guards in place for the newly installed metal roof, removing three windows and blocking them in while also removing an old gas tank that retrieved $135 for the village.

Allison, the girlfriend of George Faulkner Jr., who involved her in a car stealing scheme, was granted community control during a hearing earlier this week in front of Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Judge C. Ashley Pike. Allison, 24, last known address in Struthers, was placed on community control, and Pike ordered her to repay $5,199 in restitution to Allstate Insurance.

    Four out of the five bids opened Tuesday for a project to move sanitary sewer lines out of the way of this summer's road project at South Lincoln Avenue and state Route 45 fell below the engineer's estimate. One day after Columbiana closed the regular season on Feb. 12 with a nine-point loss to Struthers, head coach Ron Moschella became the target of a formal complaint to the school board by Rob and Casey Hall, parents of senior Taylor Hall, who alleged that Moschella shoved their daughter during the Struthers game and called her a derogatory name.
