    Elyria police detectives and narcotics officers searched a room at the Super 8 Motel on Lorain Boulevard about 7:30 p.m. in connection with a month-long investigation into heroin trafficking, according to a news release. Throughout the investigation, police have seized $1,784 in cash, three grams of heroin, about 50 prescription pills, including Xanax, digital scales and packaging materials believed to be used for distributing heroin, the release said.
