    A beach replenishment project in the south end of Ocean City, Strathmere and Sea Isle City is scheduled to begin in early March, according to new information from the Army Corps of Engineers, which is coordinating the project. But township engineer Paul Dietrich said Monday that the north end of Strathmere, which has been the hardest hit this year, may have to wait until after summer, according to a schedule from the Army Corps.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced Wednesday that it has awarded a $57.6-million contract to the Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company for a beach replenishment project in the south end of Ocean City, as well as Strathmere and Sea Isle City. The project is a joint effort of the Army Corps' Philadelphia District and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
