    Summer hours at the museums The Springfield Museums will be open daily beginning on Monday, June 29 through Aug. 31, The summer hours are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museums will be closed on Saturday, July 4. Daily activities on these dates include demonstrations about the science of flight, and the museum's "Flight Sim Spot" will be open each of these days between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Additional activities are scheduled for the following days: "Lego Contest" on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 26 and 27. The program is for children ages 3-12 and run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 28, "Aircraft Drawing Contest: What I love about flight," for children ages 3-15. All materials will be provided; Monday, Dec. 29, "Aero Modeling Workshop" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for children ages 8-14.
