"What I want to stress tonight is the fact that there are many cemeteries in the county, that I think we need to have a county district, which could have a board, which could then start doing some things to tie all these loose ends together," Patten told the audience.

    Superintendent Dr. Jan DeLay told the board the principals at Sterling and Caliche High Schools, counselors, teachers and Assistant Superintendent Ron Marostica have been looking at the new state graduation guidelines and the district's current requirements and they've had some concern about RE-1's decision a couple of years ago to increase the credit requirements based on entry to college. They say the district isn't being flexible enough for students who are not necessarily going to college.

    The growth of disc golf in Logan County will take another step forward this weekend as the first ever Pro-Disc Golf Association sanctioned C-Tier tournament in Sterling will be held at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21 at Pioneer Park. Participants who compete in this sanctioned event will also help with a fundraiser for the Sterling Hellfire Disc Golf Club in its attempt to get concrete tee pads put in at the Pioneer Park Disc Golf Course.
