    The unemployment rate is the lowest in more than six years in Lenoir County, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. According to the department, as of November 2014 Lenoir County unemployment is down to 6.4 percent, a decrease of 1.5 percent since November 2013 and the lowest rate since April 2008, when unemployment was at 5.9 percent.
