    The Starkville Police Department will offer a 10-week course to introduce the general public to what the department does and why. The second Citizen's Police Academy will begin Monday, July 13 at 6 p.m. The course will consist of 10 class meetings, each lasting about two hours, at the SPD training facility "You will come away from this series of classes with a much better understanding of what policing involves and why things are done the way they are," said SPD spokesman Brandon Lovelady.
