    Ashlyn Renee Brown, 23, was one of two arrests announced in August 2017 in connection with the death of 22-year-old Houston man Dustin Hammons, whose body was found in the woods near Starks on Aug. 2, 2017. Sheriff Tony Mancuso said at the time that Hammons was brought from Texas to Louisiana , where he was killed and his body dumped.

    The Times-Picayune , the acclaimed restaurant Shaya can continue to operate under its former Executive Chef Alon Shaya's name for now, while a fight over who owns the valuable brand plays out in federal court, a judge ruled Wednesday. Shaya had asked U.S. District Judge Ivan Lemelle to force the restaurant to drop the "Shaya" name until a trademark lawsuit with his former partners John Besh and Octavio Mantilla over the name is settled in court, according to the report.

    Centurions will still roll on Friday, but will move their start time from 7:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Isis, which is set to roll down Veterans Blvd in Metairie on Saturday, may roll on Monday if the rain persists. Parade organizers said if the parade rolls on Monday, the start time will be 6:00 p.m. According to Jefferson Parish President Mike Yenni, parish officials have also been in contact with Orleans Parish officials offering to accommodate Orleans Parish parades should they need it.
